Careers

Although Economic Insight and Insight Research are not currently seeking applicants for entry-level economist-writer positions, we constantly accept résumés from potential applicants, as we tend to hire staff about once or twice a year. Qualified applicants will have at least a Bachelor's degree in Economics and writing skills worthy of a professional journalist. Interested parties are encouraged to submit their qualifications by sending their résumé and cover letter to careers@econ.com. Due to the volume of submissions, we are not able to personally reply to all potential applicants (especially when we are not currently seeking new employees), but we do save them for future reference. Please note that we will under no circumstances consider an applicant who does not at least have a Bachelor's degree in Economics.

Many successful careers have begun at Economic Insight. Most former employees move on to pursue advanced degrees in Economics, receive an MBA, or pursue a career in energy law by studying for a JD. EII encourages continuing education and skill development, and the range of duties for employees usually grows in the direction that most interests them. The executive ranks at numerous companies are peppered with EII alumni.
